Hyperoctave : Event : Camouflage - Transformerman

Fri
19th MAY @ SOUNDHAUS
Entry £7 members, £8 guests
Doors 11pm - 4am Transformer
Man originally produced drum and bass influenced material from '94 to '98.
Growing up with the sounds of Foul Play, Roni Size and Ed Rush, he and fellow
d'n'b fan Rob Graff started creating and forging their own styles. Working
on mainly darker tracks with deep basslines, Transformer Man quickly became
disenchanted with the lack of originality and experimentation in earlier
d'n'b tunes, Whilst in a state of career limbo he heard, by accident, the
sounds of nubreaks from a close friend. On hearing the energy he once loved
in d'n'b, he started producing once again! Transformer Man's style consists
of driving bass sounds and funky beats melted into a serious groove.
And
aside from the guest we've got the most talented young producers and DJs
in glasgow. The residents of Camouflage and Tongue'n'Groove will all bejoining
forces for a night's aural and visual indulgence. 3 of Camouflage's live
artists are playing together in a combined live set of epic proportions.
Gusbo, Espion and Tino will all be blending their own styles of electro,
breaks, techno and drum'n'bass together for maximum impact. Added to this,
the Tongue'n'Groove contingent will be mashing up the breaks and drum'n'bass,
bringing the deep and filthy sounds we've come to love.
On visual patrol
will be Camouflage's VC Altronix and Video Chris, alongside T'n'G VJ 3 Stripe
with support from Mini. Full blown visual mash-ups and textures on the massive
array of hi and lo tech screens. One projector will be kept aside for the
PVC, a unique way for club-goers to get their own chance to create visuals
during a full scale musical riot. And
for those unfortunate souls who'll be staying in during such a great night,
we're broadcasting live on www.subcity.org
