Liquid
Stranger
Liquid Stranger has released a number of EPs on net-labels such as Candy
Mind, Kahvi and Monotonik. He has also collaborated with Canadian label
Interchill, czech pimp "Bruno Ferrari", swedish chip-star "Goto80"
and the major weirdo beirdo "Dorothy´s Magic Bag".
His 2007 bass-heavy album ‘The Invisible Conquest’ is the
next chapter in Interchill’s dub travelogue composed by Swedish
born Martin Stääf - also known as one half of the former Scandinavian
techno/progressive project Necton. With tracks on previous Interchill
compilations like ‘Earth Octave Lounge Vol. 2’, ‘Dissolving
Clouds’ and ‘Bliminal’, Liquid Stranger brings his unique
atmospheric flavour to the new skool dubtronica genre via melodic bass
lines, percussive grooves, organic accents and minimal psychedelic overlays.
Strongly referencing the foundations of traditional dub while adding a
new spin that is all his own, Liquid Stranger takes the listener on a
mesmerizing downtempo journey into the world of sound, rhythm and vision.
Staying true to Interchill’s roots, this is a new take on organic
electronica for expanding minds.
Travelling the uncharted terrains of music, Martin has
produces a large body of music ranging from suggestive ambient soundscapes
to movie scores, electronic pop, epic dubtronica, punk, drill n' bass
and IDM. He has made an array of higly acclaimed breakbeat tunes as Rocha
for Muti Music and Gothenburg-based label Sound of Habib. In addition
he has released funky techhouse on Ministry of Sound and Random Recordings
and techno as Slugger.
