Hoc are Bitskit (Josh Goldsmith) and Espion (Stephen Arnold).
They have been producing experimental hip hop/drum n' bass since early
2005. Heavily influenced by Amon Tobin, Autechre, Aphex Twin, John Powell,
Plaid, Venetian Snares and jazz music (Ray Brown, Roy Budd), their music
is a cross between erratic drum n' bass, electro and atmospheric film
music, reminiscent of artists found on Ninja Tune, Planet Mu or Warp
Records.
Their work consists of complex drum patterns, emotive, moody synths
and jazz samples. They are both resident at Glasgow's live underground
audio/visual night 'Camouflage', constantly battling it out as solo
artists and a duo, on a huge collection of synths, samplers and drum
machines.
